US admitted defeat in war against Iran

TEHRAN, Aug. 09 (MNA) – The IRGC spokesman said Sunday the United States has accepted defeat in the war without achieving any of its goals, and that the Strait of Hormuz is now a "geography of battle" that Iran will hold until its conditions are met.

Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said the recent war was "the only war in which America, without achieving anything, has accepted its defeat." He credited journalists and media with contributing to the outcome.

"The enemy has been forced to rapidly retreat from all the objectives it had imagined and set for itself, and is now on a trajectory of declining aims," he said. "Today the enemy has reached a point where its entire effort is focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz — a strait that was previously open and which it is now trying to open again."

Mohebbi said the strait was no longer merely a waterway but "a geography of battle," and that Iran's current strategy was to hold it. "This strategy will continue until the enemy accepts all our conditions."

The Strait of Hormuz has been closed to shipping under Iranian control since earlier in the conflict. Iran has said it will remain shut until U.S. military interference ends.
